My G90 is getting mounted this Wed. What is the correct distance for a 16x9 screen that is 120inch diagonal. I think its 96inches wide by 54 high.

thx,
Jim

Download a copy of PJCalc 3.2 or newer and use it to determine your throw distance. It will be close.

set it up on the floor and measure, its the best way to ensure max raster useage.

Going from memory here but perhaps someone else can verify this too:

If you want to maximize the phosphor usage to get maximum light output - I think it is about 1.25 x screen width.

My G90 is set up about 115.5 inches for my 92" wide X 52" high 16:9 screen - from screen to center of green gun front glass lens.

PJ calc is not set up for max phosphor usage and therefore should give you a farther measurement (ie less phospor usage).

I did the PJ Calc and it looks like it needs to be 141 inches back for my screen. Seems pretty close. Any exerience if I put it further back I would use more of the CRTs?

The farther back the LESS usage of the phosphors. Crying or Very sad

Rule of thumb is 7% closer than PJCalc-uhhh-calculates.

really 7%..that would put me somewhere in the 131 range.. does that sound right for a 16x9 120"screen. I think the actual measurements are 104 inches wide by 54 inchs high. The bottom of the CRTs will be within about an 1 or 2 of the top of the screen...so I think that with the inch or so on the mount I will be almost right on...but am very concerned with getting the distance correct..anyone have PJ Calc and can verify my numbers including coming 7% closer would be great...

I think this has been posted about 1000 times....point it at a wall, max the raster and measure the distance from the wall to get your required screen size.
