I am in the middle of my retro conversion lc of a G808s and need to know the throw distance of the 215 lense's. I searched for the link but no luck so far Question

It depends on the strength of your throwing arm, your stance, your grip, and how angry you are. Very Happy

But seriously, I thought I had that info handy but apparently that manual is in my storage unit. I believe that the 215 IS covered in
the Marquee user's manual, which is available online as a .pdf file. Search for it.

Thanks Kal I must of missed that. 120 inch screen is 132.5 so I am good shape.

HD215's have really short throw. I mean *really* short. When I changed my BG800 with 8" HD8 lenses for the Zenith 1200 with 8" HD215 lenses on the same 96" wide screen, the projector got installed about 14-20" closer!

Whatever numbers the calculations give you, you'll likely still want to install about 6-7% closer to optimize phosphor usage.

I don't remember exactly. around 108-110" ? (I'm guessing here).

Don't use someone else's throw: Just set up the PJ, maximize phosphor usage and then move the PJ back and forth until it fits the screen. That's' the correct throw.

I never used the formula's at all.

Just trying to get an idea.
If my plan works I will hang the retro from the brackets and attached to it to the ceiling.
Throw distance is no problem my slide system allows for 122 to 139 throw distance and my screen will be larger.

Thanks for the kind words 8) The 215's work perfect on the unit and I have a perfect 10 foot picture. I am going to use the retro chasis as is since I can flush mount in my opening behind me. If anyone knows how to move the red crt up or down please reply.

I don't think the red tube has to be aligned mechanically in the vedrtical direction. There are pots on the vertical board to move the raster up & down. Have a look at Curt's description:

I will give that a try. I could be one happy camper. I don't know if it is the lense's or the tubes but focus is razor sharp.
