Did you ask this on avsforum? I mean, that would be the place where digital is king, no? And is the Black Pearl not doing a good enough job for you?

i'm sorry about your loss.
as for scaler - well i have an extron DVS-304. broadcast level gear and costs a coin or two. but my HD-A20 outputting 1080i through an HDfury gives me just as good, if not better, image on my XG85.
so my extron is slowly becoming a scaler/switcher upscaling LaserDisc and VCR or passing through the HDfury.
the lesson here is to get a good HD dvd player and an HDfury.

I have a sony vph-1270q crt projector connected to my bose media center with a rca cable from the bose to video in on the projector . i'm thinking of using an s-video cable instead of the rca to a faroudga line doubler digital processor using the rgb sync hd vd on the projector instead of the single rca video in cable will this make my videos project any better or clearer i've read it would, But was wondering how much of a difference there would be in viewing quality is it really noticable and what should i expect little difference moderate or significant improvement. THANKS HATZI

The OP still hasn't addressed what is wrong with the image he is getting with the internal scaler. He's inquired about an external processor with no complaints on what is observed in the video that is negative. Strange. And AV$ sent him over here? The only reason why I can imagine that is if he had a problem with the lack of contrast and black level. I think he may just need to try to calibrate the black pearl, or hire someone to do it for him at a much more reasonable price then spending $2-3K on an external processor.
