Anyone know of a movable 16X9 test pattern that can be downloaded off the internet? I have the Avia disc, but that will not stay paused for me. The problem I have is, I have multiple monitors and it seems that all patterns only want to open to the default monitor.
Thanks, Deron.

I looked at that site and I can not figure out if what I want is there. There is some sort of 85 meg file that seems to be too big for just test patterns.
It seems odd to me that with so many 16X9 displays on the market right now, that you would think there would be all kinds of 16X9 test patterns out there, even one that can be dragged to different monitors (displays). I have even noticed that people are making up their own test patterns.
I'm going to keep looking. Let you guys know if I find anything.

had the same issue with Avia once. Checkemon 1.1 is very simple and quick. Philips testpattern generator 3.11 is more sophisticated. Both are freeware, just search google.
Cheers!

I did some quick looking around, about the only thing I did see was a hardware solution for drag able test patterns, why does all the good free stuff have to be locked to the main monitor?
Well I decided to try and find out why my Avia disc will not stay paused, anyone know, I have TT, maybe that is the problem.

I run a CRT monitor ad a CRT projector through a video splitter. Both sho the same picture and resolution of course but the two testpattern generators mentioned work fine.
You could try to copy your Avia DVD, maybe it works then. For some reason the "won't pause" would only happen to me when using a .vob file copied onto the hard drive. No issues with the DVD so far.

Why dont you just choose the other monitor as the primary monitor and open the test patterns directly on that monitor?

Deron,
I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you, I have my G70 and my Main monitor set up in a dualview configuration and it works just fine.
How do you have the two setup, if you are using a span mode than that may be causing the problem \
Erik
BTW. I'm running a 6800, but it worked just fine with the FX5500 I had before

The desktop spans three monitors (two monitors and the PJ), it is set up through the desktop properties in Windows, but it does read Dualview in Nividia settings. It used to work fine, but something is screwed up as if I do not shut down the extra monitor my TheaterTek will open up on my PJ correctly, but will jump to the extra monitor if it is on when I hit play. Probably need to uninstall my TT and reinstall it, I already messed with my display settings, but that did not fix TT moving to the wrong display.
I used to do that, change my settings on my monitors so my PJ is my main monitor, may still have too. But it's a pain, things always seem to get jumbled around, icons end up in the wrong place, sometimes the taskbar will want to move, I have to shut down the PJ each time as I had lost a H-output transistor because it seems to stress it big time, I have to remember to change things back or else I have to start up the PJ (I hate to start up the PJ just to shut it down after a few seconds) to get my controls back.
I wonder why test patterns are locked into the main monitor, I can drag everything else to other monitors?

Nokia ver 2.0 will drag to other monitors but it doesn't have a setting for 16x9. Phillips test patterns ver 3.11 has excellent patterns and has a 16x9 setting but it wont drag to other monitors but will open fine on other monitors if they are set as primary. You could try hiding your icons when switching and they maynot rearrange but not sure.I put icons on both monitors and they still sometimes change. If you dont want to shut down the projector when changing to primary, just pull input or select another input while changing. There are many jpg patterns out there that will drag but I havn't seen any in 16x9, but I havn't looked real hard either.

Eh, macgyver655, what do you mean by 'Nokia 2.0 doesn't have a setting for 16x9'?
It generates the patterns specifically for the res. that is running - even 21:9 is no problem...

Well I just looked over my Nokia 2.0 again and I didn't see anywhere to change from 4x3 to 16x9 or 21x9. If you put it up on a 16x9 screen it may fill the whole screen, but it would be streched and therefore incorrect geometry. If there is a setting for this in your Nokia, let me know where it is. I would like to try it.
Also 16x9 and 21x9 is a format, not a resolution.

I tried out the CheckeMON that hansilili recommened. It drags to any monitor, set for only one resolution and 4X3, so it may not fill the screen properly. It's still useful though, I'm thinking that there will not be one test pattern generator that will fill all are needs, so I will hang onto that one.
OK, I checked, even though I have what says Ntest2 on my desktop, it says it's version 1.0.01. I downloaded that just this month, you would think I would of ended up with the latest edition.

So I figured it out, I do have the 2.0 Nokia test pattern generator. This program does not drag to other windows normally. With Clicklock on in my mouse properties, you have to drag the hand to the window you want it in and then click, it does not automatically show up there like all my other programs do when I drag them over.
So this is just what I was looking for, had it all the time and did not even know it. I can use it on any monitor, it automatically fits the resolution of what you are using on that monitor, so it fills the whole screen properly. Cool, thanks guys.

Maybe I am not getting the point, but I don't think it just gets streched. At least the center circle is always round and resolution patterns etc. are not scaled. The whole pattern is recalculated.
Why would this cause incorrect geometry?

Sure, but the resolution defines the format in this case

Hi Bert. My post was being based off Deronmoped's original post that he was looking for a 16x9 test pattern. My assumption was that he had a display with a native format of 16x9, which would require a test pattern generated in that format to properly fill the screen with correct geometry, (not streched, zoomed or whatever option the display gave you to fill the screen). If you use a 4x3 pattern on a 16x9 native display, you would have black bars on the sides. Again that was my assumption.
Now, if the display is 4x3 native format and you just have it set up to watch 16x9 format then the 4x3 test pattern could be used, and would have correct geometry, but would over shoot the screen, the same as if you used any other 4x3 signal.
Now, if you projector is setup for 16x9 display and you send a 16x9 pattern, it would display it properly without overshooting.
I'm not truely sure of what his display is, only that he was looking for a 16x9 test pattern. This is why I suggested the Phillips 3.11. You can select 16x9 format and it is displayed in correct geometry.
Also, no offence but the source defines the format, not the resolution defines the format. You just have the option sometimes to change the produced image size.
