I'm hosting a meet at my home in Pacific Beach on Saturday November 3rd.
There are a few other CRT folk in San Diego that I've seen on the forums, but I've never actually met any of them and it seemed like it would be fun.
The response has been pretty good to the thread I started on that other forum, but I figured I'd post about it here as well.
If you are in Southern California and interested in participating, let me know!

Awesome. We're shooting for the 3rd. I'll send out PMs to the people who indicate interest with my address and stuff.
Saturday November 3rd.

I anticipate spending some time just playing around with the projector and stuff, I've got most of the standard things for demo material. But then maybe we could actually watch a movie. Looking at the upcoming HD/Blu-Ray release dates these seem like good candidates:
2001: A Space Odyssey (Warner) - probably my top choice, good movie haven't seen it for a long time.
Transformers (DreamWorks) - not such a good movie, but awesome visuals
Meet the Robinsons (Walt Disney) - never saw it, but Disney cg stuff often looks good and its ratings dont look that bad.
The Shining (1980) (Warner) - havent seen it since I was probably too young
A Clockwork Orange (Warner) - ditto
What do you guys think?
