What can cause a crt to break? The crt neck near the focusing magnets of my barco just cracked.
Is it possible with wrong g2 adjustments or that the clamp was just too tight.

Clamp too tight or mechanical shock. I doubt G2 being overdriven can cause this.

It could also have been a short right within the tube causing a massive arc. Very rare, but possible.

One of these days I'm going to get Kal to fix my username... I'm jtnfley@AVS, and this account was created when Curts' forum was a week or two old and we were all anti-establishment.
Back when Chip (stefuel) was G. Howie Phartz!

Did it crack where the bell and neck come together?? If so heat could be the culprit.
Was it a factory tube or VDC rebuild?
