Hi,
I have a PCCHIPS P25G motherboard and would like to update the bios as I'm having disc detection and stability issues.
When I download the new bios on their website I get two choices, one is a archive that extracts into two text files and a *.Bin
The other is a executible that briefly opens a command prompt before closing.
Any help would be appreciated

Unless your BIOS has a Windows update ability, you will probably need to create a bootable disc with the update application and the data file on it.
Your motherboard manufacturer should have the system specific details for updating your BIOS.
As already mentioned, some of the later motherboards have an update that can be launched from your Windows desktop but most need to be done from a bootable disc.

Thanks Guys,
I turns out it was a stupid mistake on my part, I had the BIOS for a V1 of the motherboard and mine is a V3. I should have taken the hint when I saw it was using AMI BIOS and the update I was trying to use was AWARDS BIOS.
It's all fixed now,

Lucky you didn't hose the motherboard into a 'no boot' situation. Glad you got it going.
