cine9 is limited in scanrange and is a little less noisy. For HT use there is no difference.

The cine9 is a colorfiltered CRT the 909 isn't

Yes, jantje 112 is right, the Cine9 is 'limited' to 130kHz H-scanrange Mr. Green
RGB-bandwidth is however exactly the same, 180MHz.

If one is better? That depends on the purpose. If the 909 is colorfiltered they give both for HT use exactly the same picture. The 909 will make a lot more noise, where the Cine9 can hardly be noticed when in operation.

Come to think of it, the 909 has more electronics in it that have nothing to do with picture quality for HT-use, such as extreme geometry, so the Cine9 may be the first choice because of less excess baggage.

Besides, the Cine 9 is available in the nice grey/blue color combination. Thumbs Up

Unfortunately, the Cine 9 is far less common than the 909 (the commercial version of the Cine 9). There were not that many Cine 9's installed in home theaters. If you want one, maybe it's also an option to mod a 909 so that it essentially becomes a Cine 9 on steroids. I've heard that it should be possible to use a Cine 9 firmware in the 909 to make the fans in the 909 temperature controlled. As I understand, the temperature sensors are there in the 909, but they aren't used. The fans always work full-power.

The 909 has lots of noise in both the power supply, Picture noise and Fan noise.

I actually prefer a 7 board modifyed 1209/2 or a 1209. Picture is just as sharp or sharper.

You have to do the mods and install high rez tubes.

The only item is the 909 has better convergance control.

The issue with the S model is the neck card BW so you cant get a as sharp picture after the mods.

We have a custom HDMI internal card for the 909 that provides sync right into the motherboard.

A Fan mod is necessary on the 909 its way to loud.

The thermo controllers work on the 909 but they are set at a much higher level for simulation box install.

So you will trade your 909 machines against the barco 1209 or is this just a sales talk?
