TV/Projector: All of them!

Read this:

At the end of the day, you're only limited to watch movie with APL <35%, and anything above that is all washed out. I watched my dad's 9"CRT for many movies now, and always just look so dead and soft and do not have the bandwidth to do 1080P, you literally need >450MHz video amplifier. And then there's the issue of phospor getting hit shorter time with 1080P. Too many issues. And you have to watch it in total darkness (I mean complete darkness) otherwise the whole advantage of CRT is just gone! They're pretty lacking in everything else. Its just old technology. If you want emissive display, then look at somewhere else

WHatcha think?

I'd hate to hear what that guy has to say about actual movie theaters.

Heh, there are so many things wrong with that post, but all I'll say is somebody needs to teach that boy the definition of contrast. With ANY front projector, black (and thus your contrast ratio) is only as good as the light hitting the screen with the PJ off...but of course, we over here on planet earth already know that. The writer must have been looking at a really poor PJ in really poor shape. I see none of those issues.

Heck, movies SHOULD be watched in the dark ANYWAY. It keeps your attention focused on the MOVIE.
I don't care how much excess brightness another projector may be able to deliver. My 9" machine can
make me squint, and that's bright enough.

In short...he's an idiot.

Hmmmm....it almost sounds Hajjii from M$ XBox support. Laughing Methinks the poor boys father spent all his college money on a G90....or he could have 9" tube envy. Wink
