I Bought Ginos old reference 8 he got from The old Crt Cinema.com I am soon to be fitting with 9" tubes and HD-10F lenses .
Below is the modifications already done to the PJ .

What more will I need to be able to resolve 1080p @72Hz , Mike parker mods ?? I checked the VIM and neck and it has the new op amps , i am currently running HD from HTPC 1080p @ 48hz via Analog belden 1505a coax .

After having my 1292 for 2 years i turned this on on refused to believe it was running ,until I saw the CRTs light up , I could barely hear it . HALLELUJAH Mr. Green Mr. Green

These are the included Reference Modifications:

FAN MODIFICATION All five factory-cooling fans are replaced with
German engineered Papst fans, which are well known as the quietest
fans in the world. The incredible advantage of these fans is that they
reduce the audible level by 11 decibels, which is a 47 percent noise
reduction. No one wants to hear the whirring of fans during any part
of the theater experience, which is why this is such a popular
modification.

HORIZONTAL DEFLECTION MODIFICATION This is a mandatory Reference
series modification for Marquee projectors that minimizes typical
image drift due to poor electronic circuitry. During this
modification, specific capacitors are replaced and many critical
connections are re-soldered.

ANAMORPHIC MODIFICATION The anamorphic modification increases the
projector's amount of vertical size adjustment, which corrects a
design characteristic of Marquee projectors that inhibits the
compression of all scanning information into widescreen format. This
modification significantly increases image quality by utilizing all of
the scanning information being fed to the projector when projecting in
widescreen, anamorphic and letterbox format. Since many DVD's are
available as anamorphic versions this modification will allow the
benefit of increased image clarity.

VIDEO INPUT MODULE (VIM) & NECK BOARD MODIFICATION The VIM and Neck
Board modifications improve the video signal path of the projector to
meet the demanding standards for HDTV and the high resolutions that
will be projected. These two modifications increase clarity and
maximize bandwidth effectively dropping the noise floor. This greatly
improves the darkest blacks, dark level detail, greyscale, and obtains
perfect white and color accuracy.

POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE CORRECTION For optimal performance, CRT projector
tubes require a specific voltage for the tube cathode heater. Each and
every Electrohome Marquee has been adjusted to 6.35 volts to ensure
maximum tube life and efficiency.

Lookin good Ricky!

It is quiet isn't it... I have 2 Ultra's with fan mods and no hushbox and they don't bother me at all.

I highly recommend the MP mods to give you 1080p72 and then some. It's really incredible to see this resolution and frame rate in action, along with the added benefits of a clean video chain and oodles of bandwidth.

I also recommend the new 10bit HDMI moome card. You'll be suprised at the gains in PQ you'll get here.

Guess the shiny finish should have told me that.
Looks good regardless. Man, the nose piece on the 8" Pininfarina case makes it look so much better
