Hello all
I posted this on the A site then realized I have zero posts here. Good place to start I guess.

Recently a friends Marquee has developed an intermittent problem. When the PJ is fully warmed up it will sometimes goes blank. All three tubes go black. Sometimes the image will return on its own and sometimes it needs a power off power on cycle to bring it back.
The PJ is clean and all contacts (board to PJ interfaces have been cleaned). I was considering pulling the CLM and removing ICs from sockets and cleaning those connections. What are your thoughts?
Could I please have suggestions on where to start or ideas other than the CLM?

Thanks
Steve

Reseating the chips is a good place to start. Support the boards from the back and press the chip until you hear a crunching sound. You can also pull the chips and clean them with Deoxit and a brush and dry well with a can of air. Use the appropriate puller, (PLL?) not a small bladed screwdriver so as not to break the sockets (poster child here). Not trying to be offensive but if you use the cleaner, make sure you dry it all good before powering it up.

My $.02

Greg

When the pic goes black and wont come back, before restarting try selecting an internal test pattern. If you have a test pattern cycle back to reg and seen if pic is back. Need to determine if its signal input, video output or high voltage.

Also make sure you read TB94-11 in the setup tips and manuals section.
