Well yesterday I broke down and bought the PS3 so I am now in the market for a HDMI switcher. Anyone got any reccomendations?
I will only need top switch 2x1 for now and will go that route if the price is so low that it makes sense even if I have to upgrade tlater which inevitable will. A more long term solution would be something that is 4x1 and also switches Optical Digital Audio. I am not sure if bandwidth is an issue with just a switcher but will need to pass 1080p.
This one looks like it would fit the bill nicely>

monoprice.com is what everyone seems to use.
$50 for a 4-way switcher with IR control. No need to spend $300 on the one you linked to.

Yeah... be aware that OCCASIONALLY the monoprice switches have handshake issues with other devices, but it is hit or miss.

Those look like the same units being peddled on ebay and everywhere. THey want closer to 2 bills for this switcher at RAM and it is identicle. As I said I have the 3x1 with the supposed 1.3version and it works perfectly with my Dish 622 HDMI and PS3 HDMI boths witched to the new moome HDMI card in my Qee. THe one from the guy on Ebay also came with a 6 ft cable. It was the cheapest I had found.

I've got the 3x1 monoprice switch and have not had any issues with it.

I've got the 4x1 and no problems. Tested with the A2 and PS3.

Nothing's "wrong" with it. I just thought that the one I saw on Buy.com was a good deal because it was the same price or even a tad cheaper than the monoprice switch when you throw in the 3 cables and free shipping.
I did notice that the monoprice switch is only HDMI 1.2 compliant. Of course, there's no indication whatsoever of the spec on the Impact Acoustics switch. Would you happen to know if the IR power on/off code on the monoprice model is you guys have is discrete?

I was also looking at this:
http://www.oppodigital.com/hm31/
Oppo 3x1, HDMI 1.3 compliant, and it has serial control, which is cool. $99 everywhere I looked, including Amazon w/free shipping. I don't really want to spend the extra coin, but the serial control is nice - no IR dongle that way and very reliable. I don't know...

Garen! You broke your curtpalme.com posting cherry! Cool!
Thanks, guys - and Garen. Stupid to spend the extra money when I don't REALLY need to. Monoprice and IR it is, then. Time to order it up. Mo money.
