|
|
I don't have the test equipment to produce samples and work out the optimum ratio for the (subject line) ingredients mixture ratio so I'm fishing here for mixing ratios.
The screen is BOC (96x54), pj is an unmodified non LC 8500, in a totally light controlled room. I'll be rolling the mixture with a foam roller using Kals suggestion of multiple coats with a BARELY wet roller (so that it almost emulates spraying).
Additionally, I'll be installing filtered 144's in the future when time permits (I have the plates and lenses....just no time to tear it all down and start over right now). Would that make a difference in the mix ratio?
Thanks!
Greg

I forgot I started this thread.
I wouldn't call it ambitious so much as just trying to finish some unfinished HT things. The BOC without paint softens the image terribly. I'd love to spray the screen but given the size of it I'll never get it upstairs and out to the garage so rolling is my only option.
Yeah I need some opinions on what ratio of UPW and Pearlescent I should mix. The wingnut at Home Depot didn't have a clue about latex thinners other than water (FloTrol is what I think it's called?).
I also want to get the magnetic screen suspension finished at the same time and get the bias lighthing in. It all has to start with the screen coating tho. I don't want to mix it wrong and end up with hotspots.
Any ideas folks?
Greg

Just use straight UPW. If you want to use the pearl, then throw in about 30% pearl.

I thought the general opinion was that Wilsonart Designer White beat out UPW on BOC? Wouldn't that be simpler?
Still using my unpainted BOC screen, really need to get some DW ordered...
