Welcome Gav,

Here's the procedure for defungasing Sony tubes:

http://curtpalme.com/CLR_Defungus_Sony_Tubes.shtm

You may be confusing RGBHV
(red, green, blue, horizontal (sync), vertical(sync)

with component's red green and blue color codings.

Read the CRT primer here:
http://curtpalme.com/CRTPrimer.shtm

pay particular attention to the input section on page 17 here:
http://curtpalme.com/CRTPrimer_17.shtm

feel free to ask away you have just joined the best CRT community on the net.

Hi Gav,

I believe this is the correct procedure to just use component . . .

Connect the DVD player’s component output into Input A.
In the SET SETTING menu select HDTV-YPbPr for Input A.
In the INPUT SETTING menu highlight Sync and select EXT (HV).
The IDTV module disables itself automatically.

Analogs right though. All those are GREAT links.

Funny, i had forgotten about this post ( and with 3886 of them I'm not surprised )

I was looking at a D50 yesterday. It can take component on the BNC conectors. Not sure which card is installed ( IFB-12 maybe? ) but it's a handy feature some of the projectors have.

Have a read in the manual. It tells you about this neat input card.

http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/SonyD50_User.pdf

That is if no one's swapped it for another card.
