Hello everyone.

I recently saved a NEC 6PG Plus from going to the bin. The projector is as old as me, but I'm always looking for new and old tech to experience and I find those CRT Projector quite fascinating. I have a bit of experience fixing old electronics and I would like to fix that projector.

I'm looking for E8508 tubes, the red is cracked, the other two are probably very cooked. It was used in a school and then ended up in a teacher's son's room to play the Neo Geo... probably had a lot fun Smile

This community seems to be the best place to look for those parts, I hope it is still possible to find them.
Have a nice day Smile

You may want to indicate where you're from as shipping tubes can be expensive given the extensive packaging that is required to ship them safely. May will say the safest way to ship them is in a projector (which is even more expensive to ship). Wink

I'm from Belgium and yes I expect the shipping to be quite expensive.

Something to keep in mind is that few people know how to package tubes properly for shipping. It's not easy/obvious unless you have the original packing which nobody would have as 99.9% of the time people who have tubes today have an entire projector (if even that as most have been discarded).

Also beware that the capacitors on the boards as well as the convergence and focus STK chips fail often. I stopped working on the NEC PG series very early on due to bad system boards and leaking capacitors.
Disconnect the red tubes' HV lead and the red tube CRT socket, and turn the set on. Make sure that all functions work properly with the blue and green tubes, and that the focus and convergence controls all work before spending money on tubes.

hi, i had a NEC 6PG that i gave to a friend, who doesn't do anything with it i guess.
The machine had 500h runtime and the tubes were .. like new.
I am not sure if these tubes are the ones you're looking for, but they should.
My friend and myself live in Germany, so maybe there is a chance to arrange something.
Regards, Julian
