Guys

The pics say it all. Sixteen good years. Contrast 50, Bright 45. G2s are maxed out on the left. Marquee 9500LCs with HD10L lenses.

I'll be working on the left side 9500 the next few days and then a few hours dialing them in. Convergence is very stable.

More pics coming, using my new Sony HX400V camera 20mpxl set to 5mpxl.

I got the last ten tubes from VDC Florida when they ended support for Marquees, and I had a few minty used ones from individuals.

More pics as things progress, hope to finish by Tuesday next.

Search here using "Blendzilla" for my earlier pics.

Might as well use up those tubes while you have them! How many hours did the worn tubes you ran for 16 years have?

I did not keep a log, but ten hours a week sounds about right. 520 hours a year, maybe 8000 hours with contrast in the fifties.

8000 hours with two blended projectors running filling a 107" wide screen? I would have thought with each projector not having to paint the whole 107" width that you'd be able to get more hours out of that, but maybe not.

How many foot lamberts (or nits) do you measure/target? You must be much higher than the 14-16 ftL recommended by SMPTE for non-HDR content I'd imagine given that the screen isn't overly huge? Hell, I was doing 14 ftL on my 96" screen with a single 8" CRT projector that I obtained new and put almost 8500 hours on it and it was still showing 14 ftL with the original tubes when I sold it ( https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=32972.html ) so you must be pushing those 9" tubes hard for more light. Nothing wrong with that - I say use up whatcha got!

I don't have the test gear, I'm not ISF but 260 lumens published spec x 2 on a 1.0 gain fabric has wide viewing angle and is more than I need at contrast 50.

All the new tubes are in and I'll be aligning the next day or two. Monday Night Football here on ABC!!!!!!!!!

No need for ISF or anything fancy if you want to know. You can use a free app on your smartphone and it's probably reasonably good enough. Handheld ones are dirt cheap too, like $20-30. I use this one: https://amzn.to/3Zjc04R
