Barco 909 test pattern. Image run outside of the significant wear pattern, yet somehow they still got the white balance perfect!

Very Happy

Ha! I remember seeing that in the "CRT collective" Facebook group and was thinking that it definitely looked like a Barco convergence test pattern:

Obviously they don't have to converge R-G-B. I suppose the pattern is for aligning multiple projectors, like a multi-CRT setup?

I think it's a joke. They use LED panels on the outside, no convergence required. Wink

Oh right. Kinda an obscure joke -- I'm not sure how many people would even realize what it is!

True! If it was from the CRT projector facebook group most people would, but I saw this in the "CRT collective" group which is mostly about direct view CRT displays. Then again, anyone in there is likely a bit of a CRT nerd and may get it. Wink

I was in Vegas last month, and saw the Sphere close up. Tons of construction still going on around it, (parking lot, etc), but the LED pixels were impressive, in that the images were clear even at noon in blue sky daylight. The individual pixels are a lot further apart than I expected, I got maybe 1/4 mile away from the dome, and zoomed in, I could ID the individual LED lights that make up the sphere.

I have booked the Darran Aronofsky film mid December, as I am going to a big rock show there on Dec 11, so I'll get to see the inside of the Sphere first hand.

As impressive as the video is the audio system. No subwoofers, no typical concert line arrays. If you've seen pix online of U2, the stage is completely barren of anything but their instruments.
