Hi All,

My beloved 1209s died on me and it is the quadrupler.
Does anybody still have one by chance that is willing to sell it?

Regards Jörg

If anyone's looking for schematics to any CRT projector, some years ago we posted all of the service manuals for pretty much all projectors on the main site here. Barco 120x stuff is here, including the 1209s service manual: http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco1208_Downloads.shtm

It doesn't. Years ago a few people tried it, including myself. One guy sent me 3 quads that he rebuilt. Two triggered the EHT shutdown LED instantly, and the 3rd one worked for 30 minutes, then arced and failed.

There is no way that there would be enough interest in 2023 to make a special order of quads worthwhile. I wasn't feasible 10 years ago, today even less so.

To add to this:

Also consider what a brand new Quad from Barco would have normally cost. That's probably what these would cost (or even more) if a special order was somehow done. It definitely would not be a discounted Curt Palme price where Curt bases his prices on what he pays, but more be like a new price from a dealer.

So that list of people willing to buy would be even smaller and nobody would want to pay retail on these. Someone who bought a Barco CRT projector new from a dealer for $50K+ wouldn't mind paying $2K for a new Quad if theirs broke, but people who are finding used/old Barcos for free or next to nothing will not. (Note: I don't know what the price would be, just making up numbers to make my point).

If you decide to part out would you consider selling some of the boards to me? I might be interested depending on cost.

Hi, I had the same problem and found one locally.

It is the old version R761743 whyle in my 1209/sE was installend R762833.

Looking the dedicated service bulletin an old quad on a new machine will make oscillations.

Did someone experienced this?

Anyway the quad on 1209 is the real Achille's heel.

Thanks,
Alberto
