Hey guys, anyone know of a good software to recover a **just** deleted file? My PVR software records the hour then dumps the file at end of recording. SIGH

Hi,

https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

I used it for jpg and bmp, but it claims to recognize about 180 different file formats, not only image formats.

Wouldn't you need something that's specific to your PVR? I know that when you use an "undelete" tool in Windows (or formerly DOS) what it was doing was re-adding the index to the File Allocation Table (FAT) and declaring those sectors as in use again. (When you erase it doesn't clear the sectors, just marks them as being free for use and removed the file entry from whatever lookup tables exist).

It's Snapstream Beyond TV running on WinXP 32bit with NTFS formatted 1.83TB hard drives. Never did get this figured out.

Ok, on a PC is should be more straightforward, but given how much time has passed I'm pretty sure you've over-written by now. Wink

Five bosses, just pick one: Wondershare Recoverit, FoneDog Data Recovery, EaseUS Free Folder Recovery Software, Recuva, NTFS Undelete
