Dear all,

Trying to help my Friend G70 issue recently. He mentioned that there will be a small lightning arc flash whenever he try to turn on his G70. This arc flash coming from the HV splitter that are connected to the various tube.

I would appreciate any advise from the expert in this forum.

It either needs a new HV splitter or HV leads going to the tubes.

OK. I need to go to his place to check and see this and determine the root cause. He actually has a second set as spare that I can take and do troubleshooting.

BTW, how much is one G70 splitter or hv lead?

I have leads at $10 each. I need a picture of your splitter. I have an HV assembly sitting on the shelf, but I think it's from an older 12XX series. The splitter may be the same though.

Thanks Curt but I’m on holiday right now and will only be back 2 weeks later. I will check at his place when I’m back from holiday. Thank you.

Splitter found damaged and found arc coming from there. I have replaced with another spare splitter and now, there is an arc coming from green tube. Not too sure what to do now.

I also realised that when I reinstalled the cables to the splitter, I accidentally installed incorrect sequence. Any issue if I installed cable from HV voltage right in the middle of the splitter? Will it damaged the tubes?
