HI guys,

Need some input for the experts,

i had to replace my splitter after having red leds on my eht boards.
Switching quads and ehts at first did not shut down the red led on the eht board. Then had to replace the splitter, which fixed the PJ.

But it is modulating in and out of focus and would totally go out of focus after more than 30 minutes.

What could cause this ? a bad splitter? or a failing focus board?

Have you took a look at the compatibility chart ? Sounds to me like oscillation....

put in a new focus board, the image focus got better since this is a new board.

But the image is still shaking or modulating ever so slightly. I say modulating because it is like a resistor on the verge of failing,

and causing varying resistance.

Am afraid if i let it be, the new focus board would fail.

what should i look for? is it the splitter again?

HI Hulio,

Good to hear from you.
The quads and the eht are the new series and fits the cine9 models.

It is a bad splitter. It won't damage the focus board.

Ok. Do you have spare SMPS and SMPS2+G2 boards ? You should try them one-by-one too.
Which quad and EHT you have now in your projector ? You put back the old ones (realising it was the splitter's fault), or you let the already replaced EHT and quad in ?

I let the already replaced quad and eht left in, then kept swapping spare quads and spare ehts not using the old boards.
Then swapped the splitter.

I have just swapped in a spare smps and another splitter, still the same oscillation.

The splitter is the 718, eht 716, the quad the 833 series. All new style parts.

i will try the g2 now.

The EHT should be 7637165 and the quad 763368. Splitter is ok.

Yes the quad is 763368, not 76833.

swapped a different g2 board also, still the same issue.
It seems something is straining parts in the focus board.
