Hey all,
I just got a hold of a Sony G90 and am in the process of setting it up. I'm using the Moome v3 card to input a 720P signal from my computer, but am having difficulty adjusting the raster size in particular. When I make other adjustments, such as a large change to the pincushion, I can see the corresponding change to the input, but if I adjust the raster size, there is no change to the raster of the image! The menu screen is similarly unchanged.
What's even more confusing, is that I don't seem to have this issue when I switch to the unused "input A". A change to the raster does effect the menu screen. If I unplug the HDMI cable from the moome card (input B) and attempt to change the raster size, the menu screen still doesn't change.
I am working with "video memory off", and have cleared memory blocks 13+ prior to feeding it the 720P signal.
Any thoughts from the G90 whizzes?

When adjusting size, are you in 'G' mode? if you're in R and B, then you're only adjusting those particular tubes, and the size range is limited compared to if you're in'G'.

Definitely in "G" mode. I've tried adjusting the raster size all the way to the minimum, so that when the display pattern is up, the raster is 1/2 to 2/3 the size I see with the menu/input image. When I switch back to the menu or input image, the raster size just goes back.

I think he may have not noticed the "hidden" buttons under the hinged cover at the bottom row of the keypad and remote.
I've informed him about them.

It's not that, either. Those are the ones I've been using.

Be sure you hit the SAVE button after every adjustment you make. Otherwise, it will revert.
And if it's not saving, that could be an indicator that the time to replace the Dallas chip is NOW.
When I checked out that unit it was saving adjustments properly. I made very sure of that. If it was not saving those adjustments,
then I would have already changed out the Dallas chip.

Oh, you should probably set it up for 1080p. The G90 is sharp enough that there's no benefit to restricting yourself to 720p.

To be clear, I'm hitting the "memory" button on the remote control, but it brings up the save features and all that. The reason I am presently setting up for 720P is because my laptop won't do 1080P (will find a better source later) and am still in the process of understanding how to do an alignment in principle, so not yet worried about how to do it well.
I could try switching the Moome card from input b to input c - does anyone have any further thoughts?

After making an adjustment, hit memory and then save.
Moving the Moome card from slot B to C should make no difference.

On the Sony projectors, it saves the raster size and the RGB size completely separately. Set up the raster size using the test menu setup buttons and save, then adjust the RGB size to match using the button near the top of the remote and save again.

That's useful for me to know, too! Eventually I would have needed to know that.
When I get around to actually setting up one of my G90s in my theater, that is.

Adjusting the RGB size is what was needed! Thanks jmetal. I am still unclear what the size adjust near the bottom of the remote is doing, though. Can you please clarify?

As far as I know, it just adjusts the size of the test patterns if you're on an RGB source. If you're on the 'main' composite or S-Video input it does affect the actual picture size, though.
