Guys
We are setting up for our Blendzilla Open House May 12-13 and the Analog Way Nextage processor arrived today.
Jeremy was kind enough to put some 4K movies in the mail; I need to get over to Best Buy and grab a Sony 4K player. Will it work? Will it be amazing? Come to our Meet and find out.

I like the idea but want to know what resolution you will actually end up using.
You see, 4K has four times the pixel count of 1080p and simply doubling the number of projectors displaying the image
is going to still cause you to have to deal with the fact that 2x 1080p bandwidth requirements is too much for any Marquee to handle.
You will end up almost certainly having to run a resolution under 4K but probably well above 1080p.
Maybe 2560x1708. Or something in that ballpark.

Tim-
How flexible is this thing with custom resolutions and will it downscale 4K content? I'm thinking something like sending 1440 x 1620 to each projector might work (2880 x 1620 total res). Also depends on whether you are running 10%, 15% or 20% blend zone. If it can do that and give greater control of the blend zone for calibration purposes Nash might be interested.

This is something you'd have a broadcasting studio or newsroom for doing overlays/feeds/etc, all controlled by the show director or producer real-time like you'd see on the 6 O'clock news with a ticker across the bottom, an overlay with the news channel's logo, split screen, picture in picture with multiple sources, etc. All the standard stuff you'd see a news broadcast use. Using it for only edge blending two CRT projectors barely scratches the surface of what these processors can do. It's complete overkill for CRT blending. Nobody would buy one for CRT blending (unless you find one cheap on ebay or something).

Yes, some people would buy one for blending two CRT projectors, but not many. Jeremy Kipnis might!

Guys
NeXtage 08 starts at $18,500 and is 4K ready but would need a Moome MUX 1.4. My DVX8022 was $16,500 when I got it, so hardly an increase if you consider inflation over 11 year.
My note regarding a "4K option" turned out to be a 30hz refresh thing, not needed on CRTs.
STE 100 a.k.a. "SmartEdge" is discontinued and will not be supported much longer. Similar with DVX which is my unit here today; no longer supported.

Analogway was limited to 30P for 4K, that was disappointing given the pricepoint last time I investigated the latest chassis (16, 32, 48 channels), being launched at ISE 2015

We are kind of stuck now. The demo NeXtage unit went back several weeks ago; and Moome never responded to me about an HDMI 1.4 MUX, so I am unable to try things.

1056 x 1600@60Hz / 1056 x 800@72Hz / 1280 x 1024@60Hz / or another
