Hi folks. According to the guy I bought my 9500 from it has a different green tube which makes it 3D capable. What do I need to use the 3D on it? I have a oppo bdp-103d as my main player.

Hello

That will depend on the discs you have available. If you seek to do Active Stereo then some LCD shutter goggles are needed, along with an emitter from the Oppo to trigger left eye only/right eye only in rapid succession, synced to the frames coming off the disc.

TV/Projector: All of them!

Keep in mind that the 3D fast phosphor tubes reach saturation very quickly, so if you see white areas turning pink, your contrast is too high. Unless you specifically want to run 3D, I would switch out to a normal green tube. I have new old stock tubes here.

I don't want 3D specifically no, just thought I'd ask since I have the tube. I would rather have a regular green tube however I'm not sure I feel confident switching it myself and I assume the shipping to Sweden would be pretty painful.
Would I need to output 24fps from the Oppo to use the 3d? I have'nt been able to make the projector work with a 24fps signal so I have just had it set to 60 instead.

No, don't use 24 FPS. Even if the projector would sync to the signal, it would be like looking at a strobe light. Flicker city.

60 Hz is really about the minimum refresh rate anybody wants with CRT.

Swapping out a CRT assembly in a Marquee is child's play. If you can get out of bed and make it to work without help, you can swap out a tube in a Marquee.

Okay how much would a green tube shipped to Sweden cost?

A loaded Marquee tube assembly (with magnetics, ready to run) weighs 27 pounds packed in a 24 inch by 12 inch by 12 inch double walled box.

You'd probably want an LCP tube for this projector, and I think Curt is the man to go to for those. If you want the slightly higher
resolution LUG type tube, (some minor modifications to the CRT neck card required to run with it) then I have them, but have to
build them up into Marquee LC assemblies which takes a few days as the silicone needs time to cure.
