Hi Guys,

Let me start by wishing Happy eastern to everyone.

Need some urgent help. I've just replaced the glycol and re installed the blue tube on my Cinemax

I switched it on and everything was ok. Image in all tubes, but suddenly the projector switched off by itself. When I switched it on again I heard a zap but no image in any of the tubes, what the hell just happened??????

Check the red lights on the EHT board. It sounds like you're in HV shutdown mode due to some arcing.

Yes it's normal for the fan not to spin until the set gets warm.

You have HV failure. It can be the HV quadrupler, splitter or the EHT board itself. it's not likely to be the EHT board. You need to either send me the quad and splitter for testing, or buy replacements. I've got stock of both. Email me at curtpalme at shaw.ca

Thanks!

Try swapping the quad and splitter.

Ok with my bg808s splitter everything works. But now after a few minutes running I lose the green. If I switch on and off all tubes are ok but after a while I lose the green

Try swapping the neck board, which is located on the back of the tube neck between tubes. All three are identical.

Hey Curt,

I've swapped the one of the green tube with the blue. Now when I switch on the projector the blue blue is immediately on with high intensity makes a zap ands the projector switches off. I've umpluged the HV from the blue and everything works ok (of course without blue tube on). What do you think?

Are you sure you didn't bend one of the CRT pins when you changed over the CRT socket? That would cause that, and is very easy to do with the 909 CRT sockets.

Curt,

I refitted the neck and problem solved! My new problem is that I can center the crosshair of the blue and red tube with the green. What ever I a just in the software they are vertically too low. Is there any other adjustment I'm missing? The raster are centered
(Although in this projector they are really difficult to see)
What else ca I do?

Yes, there are V shift trimpots on the vertical board. Two are for master V position, the other two are the R and B vertical size controls.

Done, thank you Curt

Now what I notice is that the blue lines on the grid are like out of focus, nevertheless to focus adjustment (mechanical or electronic) seams to improve that. What can I do? Image appears with an horrible blue contour

Look into the blue lens with sunglasses on. IS the test pattern out of focus on the tube surface? Can you adjust the focusing in the menu to improve that?
