G90 experts, how can you do this?

Supposedly there is a way to daisychain the signal from one G90 to a second projector, using the IFB-12 optional input board
in its output mode. There's a switch on the IFB-12 that switches it from an input card to an output card.

It'd be a very simple and convenient way to handle signal distribution for when you want to stack two G90s.
You'd just need a suitable length RGBHV cable to run from the IFB-12 in the source projector to the inputs on the slave projector.

IF it actually works that way.

I've tried, but so far have not had any success in making the IFB-12 card turn work in output mode.

Have you? If so, what's the trick to it?

I have not found the instructions on this in the manuals yet, and I've looked.

Did you turn on ABL in the G90 menu?

I don't know how it works, but purely from electronic standpoint it should contain a video buffer that drives the second projector, being that way it would be problematic from bandwidth standpoint, especially if you want to get the most out of the sets.

I'll try a few things this evening. Bandwidth-wise, as long as this works at 1080p then it's good enough for stacking a pair of projectors.

I've got a brand new in the box Extron video distribution amp. But it won't do what I'm HOPING I can do, which is:

Input HD video into G90 no. 1 via HDMI, output it from an IFB-12A card in the other option slot, and feed that signal into the G90 no. 2.

I'm not quite sure if this is actually possible but apparently the IFB-12A card does have an operational video OUTPUT mode, and if the G90 will accept the right configuration, then I can stack two projectors with nothing more than a 5 BNC jumper cable. No addtional equipment needed since I have plenty of IFB-12As to go around. (And plenty of G90s, too!)

The point is to do it with LESS equipment. Not more.

Well, I found that pass-thru can be achieved but apparently not with an HDMI input card being the source.

And it apparently ONLY works if you have two IFB-12A cards in the unit. One becomes the input, the other becomes the output,
and oddly, their roles are REVERSED according to what their input/output switches would indicate.

With the one on slot B set to input, and the one on slot C set to output, you put video in to C and it comes out of B.

Yeah, reversed. I confirmed it.

Or maybe they're just referring to its function at the OTHER end of the cables. Input means "Here's the input to the next projector", or so it would seem.
