I have a hard time hearing low and soft dialog passages in movies.
I have a samsung dvr with atsc tuner that goes hdmi into a DVDO and
then to a pioneer 7.1 receiver.
TV sound is fine but playing dvds either from samsung or a bluray toshiba
I struggle to hear low and soft dialog.
Setup pioneer with built in MAPCC and even boosting center way up but, I constantly turn volume up and down
trying to catch low dialog sometimes I give up and watch movie ignoring what I can't understand.
THe THX setting of pioneer doesn't allow dialog enhancement.
Any suggestions?

Hearing aids. Sad

I have the same problem. I can usually follow the dialog but with the volume louder than other people want to listen. If I set it at "normal" levels, I strain to understand the dialog and miss a lot of it. So I sympathize.
