A question for the Guru of the CRT world:
Are there any parts from the BG808s that can be used on a 1209s? I'm asking this because I just lost my head and bought a 1209s although I've two fully working BG808s at home ( oh my god now I've to paper weights of 70kg !!!!! Buying a new crt in 2016!!!)
I really hope it's a good improvement over the 808s

You might need to take a look at a cross reference sheet like this one

I believe the there is very little in common between the two sets.  In terms of boards!!

Astigm board
Convergence driver board
RGB input and driver boards
Port 3 board
deflection yokes
focus yokes
astigm. magnets
