I have an 808 that has bright smearing (in other words the brights instead of making a dot will make a streak horizontally).

Does anyone have ideas on how to resolve this?

Do you have a picture. If I'm guessing the problem right, this could be either astig or internal reflections in the tube.

Don't make the image too big, its just blurry (iphone had no idea what to focus on) but you can see the issue here on the building on the left. See the brightest point? It's white shoots out another ~15% of the screen's width before decaying.

Thanks for taking a look

Do the internal menus and test pattern do it too?

I don't believe so. Though the issue is only with bright whites and essentially high contrast scenes.

Is there a part of the menu that I could test better?
