what is the deal with these new sets, skin tones are really weird and colors in general are extremely over-saturated. Is this even adjustable or are they just made this way?
Wife and kids just had to get a new TV, even though our 32" CRT works fine, does 1080i, and looks more natural. The one place the LED seems to do well is 1080P graphics on video games.

Did you just buy this set? Frankly, I'd take it back. Vizio main boards fail like crazy. Given what sets I get in here for service, I recommend LG or Samsung. Sony has LCD issues, so I don't recommend them either.

it's an M43-C1 "4K Ultra" . I'm not sure it's color balance, I can spot that pretty quickly and it's not pushing green or Red, peoples faces just look "pasty" and from what I've read "pasty face" is just a hallmark of digital sets.

yeah aint gonna happen, the ole lady knows everything and anything i say is " unhelpful" and just intended as criticism anyway .

"Pasty" was also how I described my 8500 before I put color-filtered lenses on it. The color calibration can make a BIG difference.

I described the digital pasty thing as faces looking like they have a film of oil on them, as if they were about to break out with a bad case of acne.. I see this all the time with digitals, but haven't noticed it in the digital commercial cinemas/theaters. it drove me nuts though about 10 years ago, as they all did it, including a lot of flat screens.

yeah, what curt said.
My 8500 is not filtered and I've never seen anything like it before, not even close. I don't think it's entirely a color issue, there's just some really weird phenomenon happening here that is a combo of color and contrast working together in a very wrong way.
I bet Craig Rounds would know.
