I was wondering if anyone knew who purchased Charles in Toronto's 4 909 split packs?
Charles was not nice when I asked, telling me he would report me to the Canadian government for privacy violation.
News to me. Anyway, one will show up at some point.

The focusing and zone tuning of my 9 inch tubes and 808 chassis has always left me wondering how much better
control I can get with a 909 split pack.

He how did you get the idea for the splitpack Very Happy

Others might correct me but I found the control the 909 has on the beam very very good. When you take the time to do the astig and zone focus and convergence you get a sharpness that is pretty unique for a CRT. Also the video chain is upgradable by guys like Eisemann while the 809 neckboards are the weakest part.

Yes I know Charles too. Wonder who bought it as he could not even start it up. Probable still in his storage.

There were many times Charles told me the units were sold, but were not, so perhaps that is a correct observation. I also purchased one of the units, then found out it wasn't disclosed that it wouldn't turn on. Charles perhaps got mad at me because the units weren't really sold after all. But the purchaser is said to have bought all three nonworking units, and the new unit.

When Curt has time, I'd like to see his stack.
I am interested in a purchase near his place so maybe we can get together in 2016. I still need to get some parts to Curt.

Been diving in all this shipping and airtransport. For a splitpack without tubes and lenses the air is not that expensive and you get the package in 2 or 3 days. Also if there is no glass the chances on damage are much smaller. But we will see how 2016 goes!
