Hi everyone,

I still have not been brave enough to mess with my g90 focus yokes and I am looking for someone who has a set of them that could point me in the right direction.

Thanks

God bless...

Pretty sure that frankenyokes refers to upgrading the yokes in a Marquee. Whether or not the G90 is the "best" 9" LC available is subject for debate, but I'm pretty sure the G90 9 zones of 2, 4, and 6 pole adjustment is about as good as it gets in that department.

Edit: Axis as well as diagonal adjustment.

Hi,

Sorry I should have been more clear I'm trying to use focus coils from a g90 on my 9500 and I've got to figure out how to wire them correctly

The G90 yoke is just TOO different. I honestly don't think it's going to be any better than some other yokes that have been tried and proven to work well after some rework.

Its potential is best realized when you have full control over every function incorporated into the G90 focus yoke, and only a G90 has the circuitry for that.

The electronic CPC magnets can't be used in a Marquee unless you are planning to do some epic re-engineering to add control circuits for that function into a Marquee.

Since you wouldn't otherwise be able to use the electronic CPC system, the space occupied by it in the G90 yoke is wasted space that will result in all the rest of your magnetics having to be put in the wrong place on the tube neck, except for the deflection yoke.

Take it from me. I'm the idiot who got the whole Frankenyoke ball rolling in the first place. I've tried every kind of yoke I've been able to get my hands on, changed magnet strengths, rewound coils, adjusted and modified them, etc. and I just don't see that G90 yokes are going to meet your expectations.

They do work great in a G90, though.

The fun is that in the frankenyoke thread someone says I have G90 yokes for years and they are so much better. I think the guy has 1292 yokes and someone told him that they are G90 yokes. He never replied on questions to clarify.
