Hi to all home cinema enthusiasts,
with the help of you I managed to fix my set years ago, installing a quad/EHT combo that was not originally designed to go into a Cine8 (old layout vs. new layout) and had lots o fun with it.
But I had to shut it down now due to very weird effects I see when watching a movie.
Signal path is:
Playstation3 -> Lumagen Vision HDP -> HDFury 2 -> Barco Cine8
I filmed a few movies of the effect I see. It used to happen later in the evening, usually started when I watched more than one film so I thought of some thermal issue but now it kicks in right away on start...

Any help really appreciated, would love to get that set back to life as we're really missing it.
Let me know which information you need from me to give any pointers on what might be causing this.
Cheers,
Carsten

Check the +17 volt test point on the power supply. It looks like it may be off value. Reset the trimpot, and I have a feeling that it will go away.

Thank you Curt, will check that...
What is the reference point for the +17? Chassis? Will a Fluke multimeter be sufficient for that?

Do I need to display any specific pattern while measuring?

You need to be able to measure to 0.1v, the two Flukes i mension there dont have that resolution.

Sorry for repeating but what do I display while measuring?
Or do the 17 volts remain constant regardless of the source?
Not sure which place it was but I read that even the brightness and contrast should have a certain value while measuring?

31kHz or 32kHz signal and contrast and brightness on 50.

But the above vallues are for a cine 9 not sure if they work for a 808.
