Hi all,

I have a 10PG finally restored and this baby is just the best BUT:
If the interlaced signals are working great, I'm experiencing an unknown problem in 1080p.

I have an overly bright edge of about 2mm on the right side of any contrast (from blak to bright).

Is there a name for this and does anyone have an idea of what I'm talking about? If not I will try to attach a pic!

Thank you folks!

Attach a pic if you can yes, but i would probably suggest you stay with 1080i on that machine.

What i reckon youre seeing is caused by incorrect timings, you could probably move the image left in the raster to remove it, but then youll see a wrap around on the left.

The 10PG is probably driven a bit hard at 1080p for my liking.

I've had a similar issue with my 10pg when trying to display 1080p. The unaltered 1080p signal from my PS3 does what you describe. I bought a Lumagen to attempt to have control over the porch settings to eliminate the issue but was not successful. What really bothers me is that my Rock Pro scaler pushes 1080p to the pj with no issues. The only problem with the Rock is I can't dump a 1080 signal into it so only composite sources are scaled to 1080p. I've basically settled for 1080i on the 10PG. It looks great and keeps the deflection board from running too hot.

Zolzar is correct. I haven't run a 10PG at 1080p, but my guess is that you're seeing image wraparound, also common on the later XG series of sets. Get a used scaler, a Lumagen HDP would be ideal, and you can shrink the width of the image to fit within the raster. That should do it. Otherwise, run at 1080i.

I have seen this many times on NEC sets when testing boards. I generally test all the way up to 1080p
It is usually fixed by bringing in the blanking a little on the side of the problem. Shift may help some also but from what I had, the issue would usually travel with the shift. I did not have to blank the problem area, just bring blanking closer to the image.

If be happy to sell you my Lumagen HDP for $150 if you want to continue your quest for 1080p. I'll likely be posting it soon in the Buy Sell Arra of the forum.
