|
This is a list of all the movies that I enjoyed in my CRT theater in 2014. Many of the movies where great just because the picture was so great!
All Is Lost (2013)
Magnificient movie with Robert Redford.
Dallas Buyers Club (2013)
The battle against aids and the farmaceuticals.
Lone Survivor (2013)
You got to enjoy these forest scenes!
Her (2013)
Good story and beautiful images.
Need for Speed (2014)
Only great race scenes bad story
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
Fun
Divergent (2014)
Bit to much animation but still great.
Noah (2014)
Nice spectacle.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Spiderman will always be on my list.
Blue Ruin (2013)
Surprising good.
X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
Nie spectacle.
Maleficent (2014)
Fun.
Edge of Tomorrow (2014)
Little better spectacle.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)
Nice spectacle.
The Homesman (2014)
Great drama about the old wild west.
Lucy (2014)
Ingenious spectacle.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Super spectacle.
As Above/So Below (2014)
Dark movie with great CRT blackness
If I Stay (2014)
You have to see this drama.
The Maze Runner (2014)
Great.
Gone Girl (2014)
Good and bad.
Under the Skin (2013)
Best movie of 2014 because of the great scenes. A movie where the depth of my CRT took me along on a ride with Scarlett.
The Drop (2014)
Supprising good.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014)
Hunger games will always be on my list.
Baraka (1992)
Not 2014 but the best scenes ever and I enjoyed it again very much.
Hopefully 2015 will even be better!

Lucy started very bad in my opinion but got better. I might be biassed because four of my movies have Scarlett Johansson. Lucy, Under the skin, Captain America and Her.

Ok but in Her an operation system went in to the post language area and eventually left all systems behind if I remember well and got cosmic.

nope, her cells were dividing too fast so she knew she would die and left human kind the knowledge of everything as a gift to do good on a usb stick rofl....
if that ain`t silly i don`t know what is.
that cosmic part is the god part btw.
i like science fiction but with the given premise this turned out awful.

I was very disappointed by Noah. I put it near the top of my worst of 2014 list. I was interested to see how they handled various biblical details like how so few people built such a large craft, managed 1000s of animals etc, etc. Rock people and sleeping potions? WTF? It was a bad mix of sci-fi that left me feeling ripped off and a waste of my time.

Just watched How to train your dragon 1 and 2. Nicely animated, acted and a good story line too.

Selling my house and HT and moving across the country put the hurt on my movie watching this year, but I did manage to watch a few of those either early in the spring or this fall.
I thought "Her" was a creative, interesting story and well shot and acted.
I watched Maleficent with the kids. Great movie. Beautifully shot. Great story, sound, and acting.
Lone Survivor was difficult to watch at times, but appeared to be an excellent retelling of a real story.
All Is Lost. Good film.
Dallas Buyers Club. Good flick. Wife and I enjoyed it.
Cheers,
SC

I'm always a billion years behind in movies. I finally watched Trainspotting. Not sure if it's a good idea to watch this movie in BR. I felt the bile rising in my throat during the toilet scene near the beginning of the movie. There's some things you can't unsee. Great movie otherwise.
On a whim, I bought 'Nymphomaniac I and II' because of listening to Howard Stern. One member of the show really enjoyed it, another said it was unwatchable. I'll be watching what I can of it tonight... will report back.

They aren't trying to make money. They are trying to present factual history.
