Just letting folks know that Oppo released a new firmware today for the BDP-83. This player has not gotten a firmware update in a very long time because it has been out of production since about late 2009. However, there are some new releases BD's that were having trouble with the old firmware so Oppo fixed the problems and has put up a new release.

This is unprecedented support from an outstanding manufacturer. Kudos to Oppo! They never stopped supporting the BDP-83, but now Oppo has really put up!

I love Oppo. Best video quality, best support, and outstanding build. When you buy an Oppo you know it will be a nice usable piece of hardware for years into the future.
