Hi to everybody!
It's about a month that my Marquee 9500 has a weird problem:
when I power on the set, the grid is quite perfectly converged; after 3-5 minutes, the upper and lower extremities of the blue grid shift about 1"-2". If I power off and then on the projector, the grid is converged again. In the next 20 minutes I have to cycle off and on the Pj 1 or 2 more times, then it runs fine for hours.
Any idea?
Thanks, Carmine.

My guess would be some strange problem in the CLM. Can you post a picture of the test grid, showing the problem?

Thanks Curt and Dennis, this evening, I will try to take a pic of the issue and then to swap VDM cables.

Hello

Look closer at the problem; is the blue grid taller or shorter, or is linearity changing? This could be a vertical board problem. A reflow of the vertical board solder joints may be helpful.

Looks like I've found the problem.
Not long time ago, I redirected the cables, and paired together the wires from the VDM with those from HDM.
This evening I split the wires again and the convergence is rock stable since.
Will see next days, but for the while everything looks fine.
Thanks!

Oh yeah!!! When I got my New Longbow's they had all the wires braided. it was very neat but made a mess of the image and everything else. Keep it all loose and who cares about how nice it looks under the hood.

there's also a tech. bulletin from VDC to never route the Blue HDM wires behind the card and close to the Vertical board, always bring it around the front. Of course this as from the same company that braided all the other tube leads into a pony-tail Razz
