I have been swapping out power supplies, and now put one in and the c (on the right) flashes when I try to get a picture. Projector powers up, but c flashes. Any suggestions?

I reseated the HDM and same; powers up, makes all the noises yet no picture even on utilities; does it have something to do with the HV power supply which changed out several times?

OK, THAT'S a problem. unless you're REALLY unlucky, you should NEVER have to change out 'several' HVPS!

I had a customer once that had an 8500 that ate HVPS on a regular basis. I told him to scrap the set, as it was impossible to figure out why he went through HVPS every year. You maybe change a HVPS once in the life of a set, twice with bad luck.

Might be a bad VNB. So starting with one say red for argument unplug the Black umbilical cord and fire up the PJ, if the green and blue fire up its the red VNB, do it with each one leaving out all till you get to blue then put red back in with green and blue out, Understand? if still no go then it is a bad HVPS.

if you hear "the crackle", then the HV is coming up, simple as that. There could still be a problem on the G2 section, but unlikely all 3 tubes at once.
If your not getting anything to come up with HV on then there's an issue on the control module. At this point, it's critical to pull this board, and with a proper chip-puller, pull and clean the chips with De-oxit. On really high hour sets, replacing the primary de-coupling caps on the 5 and 15 volt rails is also a really good idea as there are some ripples on these rails which eventually kill the tant's. Typically though, it's oxidation on the DPB board, chip U7, and the pins connecting this board to the CLM
