That unit will work fine.
You will still need some CMS controls in another VP.
Cheapest route would be two used Lumagen's starting with the HDQ's if possible or the nest cheapest used Radiance mini's.
For the best results a 2.4 aspect is a must. For when I want to watch 16x9 movies my Oppo has a 1/2 zoom function
that works perfectly for that.
I hardly watch any TV since it is all 1080i and my Blend is set up to output 1080p@24 to the Tv-One. Then the Tv outputs 1056x800p@72 to the Projectors. no processor can convert 1080i to a lower refresh rate( 24z) with out massive judder. So that is why I only use 1080p@24 source material.
You could do a 16x9 but it defeats the purpose of using the full or most of the 4x3 aspect tube.
I think Tim does a 1.92 aspect screen, sort of a middle ground.

I want to input Directv and most sports feeds are 16:9? Am I wrong, can't you select two separate inputs with the 7100? My inputs would be 1) HTPC with Nvidia Titan cards 2) Directv
Screen width would be 14 feet. I could reduce the width with blanking panels to get my maximum height for the 16 X9?
What am I missing?

Well the way the memory works in the TV-one units is not the best for multiple aspect ratios.
Some settings are not saved as you would hope. So you have to do that in another processor like the Lumagens.
or you set it up for 16x9 and then you'll have to mask top and bottom for 2.4 movies off Blu Ray
It is hard to explain till you begin the set up. You could choose to run 1080p60 out of the Tv-ones
and not worry about frame rate down conversion. I watch mostly movies on the blend so I chose to run a multiple of 24.
But at 1080p@60 your running a little bit a higher resolution in the PJ's. Its not big deal but I found
800p@72 a perfect fit for my set up.

Thanks for your replies!!!!
The maximum digital output via DVI-D is 108Mhz 1600X1200@72 is 165Mhz
If 16X9 is my "norm" what would you recommend?
What is the maximum analog output? Andy wrote years ago> The Analogue output seems to be designed for something that NASA might have as a concept as it runs seriously high Bandwidth.

I have debated this with others here. The DVI in the Tv-one seems to support a much higher resolution. On the "A" suffix unit the engineers had it up to 210 mhz pixel clock but they didn't have a monitor of any higher resolution to see where it maxed out.
I think the 7xxx series toped out at close to 200mhz or just under it.
Why not just run 1080p@60? I would try that.

Thanks Again!
Does anyone know of any mods to quiet down the internal fan? Wow it's rivals an old Hafler amp on high speed. I think I read that you could remote mount the power supply?
