Question
I just picked this up 1030Q1 FREE . (I know its old but the bulbs are clear and show NO wear)
I was wondering can it be used for a REAR projection I did not see this in the manuals
I was going to use it for a halloween projector then re give it away
( it will be in protected shed outside focusing behind plastic )
I did not want to place the projector in front and am hoping this can be done..
I have other crts I love them !!!!!
Any help??

First off, they are not BULBS, they are TUBES!
Yes, the H yoke connections need to be reversed as well as some of the convergence board connectors. It's been too long for me to remember, but you should find the info here:
http://www.curtpalme.com/Sony10xx_Downloads.shtm
If the 1030 owner's manual doesn't cover it, download the 1031 install manual.
Have fun with it!

The plugs are on the left side of the convergence board as you look from the rear. There is 6 plugs on the board and three leads to connect.
The deflection yokes connect to the board to the left of the convergence board.
There is a heap of switches on the convergence board with some sets that need to be set so the convergence will work.

As much as youd think that part is obvious

One of my 1040's has a deflection burn likely caused by pulling the plug on the green to switch the scan with the power ON

There is a board that causes that if it fails too, my 1001 did something like that on all three tubes, but didn't burn them!! They were black already, so you never know.
