TV/Projector: Marquee 9501LC / NEC 9PG+

I've always used the setup guide on the forum and it's always worked really well. Takes about 3 hours the first time. NEC's take longer than say a Marquee as you have so much control.

http://www.curtpalme.com/CRTSetupGuide.shtm

Biggest piece of advice I can give is try and get a perfect image with the mechanical setup. Don't rely on the electronic adjustments to help too much as it taxes the machine and seems to go out of convergence more often (constant tweaking). If you have the mechanical setup near perfect you should only have to lightly tweak here or there.

Good luck. Seems daunting, but if you follow the setup guide and then do it 2-3 times all the way through, by the time you get to round 3 it should only take about 20 min. Each time you'll adjust less and less.

They are both very simular, and quite easy when you know what everything does.

Biggest difference is the Plus uses magnets to center the rasters, where as the XTRA and XG use an electronic coil intergrated into the deflection yoke in the place of the manually adjusted magnets.

Case, none of the PG xtras had electronic raster centering I had here.

The runco 933 I once had also needed to the raster to manual be set. I like that solution better because using a coil takes again more current to achieve the same. I like a projector with as much manual setup as possible Very Happy

It really seems to have very little affect on the stability of my XG, if any at all. The machine stays very stable and basically right where i leave it for as long as i leave it, hot or cold.

Then it must be a PG6200A, the latest version that was manufactured until mid '98 or so, I've heard that those machines have slightly different DEF boards too and came with the white HD144s, I always wanted one of those Smile

Good for you, I rarely find mine where it was left, sometimes after a good hour of use it drifts away (again), and also gets out of focus (but that's not an unusual behaviour on these LCs as it seems). Apart from the LC, I'm missing my PG xtra Crying or Very sad

I havent put it back together with the LC housings yet, but that will have no affect on electronics either way.

The focus drift is an optical issue.

Hi Joseph, your Bluray player probably reset its output to 1080p. If you can see through the mess to reset it to 1080i or 720p which ever you were running before it will likely fix the issue.

Alternatively you can hook up the yellow video cable to your TV and see the Blurays menu that way and reset the output resolution.

Also make sure 24hz is turned OFF in the blurays menu

Is there a switch on there for H+V and separate sync?
