Has anyone ever considered using Dynamat to line the inside of the PJ on the hosing to kill fan noise ? It works very well inside of cars to deaden road noise. Very well. It would be an easy install and wouldn't cost a fortune as I have a source for a generic version.

It's been discussed several times, Jeff. I have no idea where the thread is, but I think Craig may have even been talking about doing it with his G90. Do a search for dynamat and/or a search for dynamat on my user name or Craig's, and you should be able to find one of the threads I'm talking about. I think most of the noise is from the fans and air turbulence, and less from the resonating case, but if you have a cheap source for some generic material, I'd say it can't hurt and would be worth a try.

Guys
You would need to identify the nature of the noise, which could vary depending on the fans used. In a Marquee the problem is cheap bearings in the lvps fans which sound like pepper grinders after a few thousand hours; best to replace those. As to other projector makes, each may pose a unique situation.

My G90 is stock. The fans aren't super loud I just want to lessen the noise level as much as possible. I am not much of a carpenter any attempt making a hushbox by me would probably look sad to say the least.

Guys
Projectors use six or seven hundred watts from the mains, and most of that is given off as heat, so take care not to impede or reduce air flow or you may end up baking something.

my plan was to just put a layer of dynamat on the inside of the case. I wouldn't think it would raise the temp as my case doesn't seem to get warm.
