I'm pulling a

  • AC power line for a retractable screen
  • 12V control wire for the retractable screen
  • Cat5 for IR control of the screen
  • HDMI
  • LCR speaker wires

through a large horizontal chase.

Already in the chase is

  • air conditioning fridgate lines
  • air conditioning control wire
  • 1 AC power line for a ceiling light
  • main gas line
  • water pipe.

This is a LARGE chase. The chase is 12' long.

My concern is that the HDMI and LCR speaker wires will be parallel to those AC power lines and getting interference on those low voltage cables.

I'm think about putting in a 2" - 3" metal conduit and pulling the HDMI and speaker wires though it. Will that shield low voltage from any AC voltage interference?

Wont be needed, the HDMI cable will be STP, and if youre pulling CAT5e through there you should buy the STP instead of UTP, and shield your speaker cables if you cant get some shielded speaker wire, the other stuff wont need it.
