Guys,

I'm a bit confused. When I measure my 17v point on source (1080p 60hz, Contrast 49, brightness 49, hor. size 49) I measure 17.8v

But when I take an internal pattern like EDTV or HDTV Hivision it reads (also Contrast 49, brightness 49, hor. size 49) 15.5v

Now the manual says adjust on internal pattern but I'm a bit scared that I somehow missed something and I will adjust it too high.

Can u try another volt meter to ensure accuracy? You should measure 17v on the internal test pattern not 1080p source.

There is alot of noise generated inside the 909 that probably makes your multimeter giving false readings.
I would use an oscilloscope so you also can see the ripple.

I tried other multimeter and it gives exact same readings so I don't think it's the multimeter. Unfortunate I don't have an oscilloscope to measure it. But I will measure my test chassis tonight to see what that one has for voltages. Actually I think my unit run on 15.5v all the time that I have it Embarassed
But when I read system voltages out of the menu all seams fine.

Hello Francisco.
I thought that the 17V rail should always be checked with a standard signal at 15,6 Khz.
The problem is, on BR909's, the lowest internal crosshatch signal you can choose is 32 Khz.
Try to output a 15,6 Khz signal from your Crystalio II and see if you get the right readings on the multimeter.

Hello Case.
Francisco's machine is a split-pack 919, so no LiMo Pro in there.
Besides, the internal line multiplier is only aviable on 15 KHz incoming signals. So in fact, no need for a internal or external scaler. I think the best way for Francisco is to connect a DVD player on Barco's port 2 (S-video), play the movie and take the readings.
Case, you still have the LiMo Pro card in your Cinemax ? You should get rid of that, less energy needed and beter cooling.

EDIT: Euh, forget my question. I just remembered that you also use game consoles so in your Case Very Happy , LiMo Pro could be of great help.

Thank you all guys for tips. It rather was something else. First found another Barco 909 document where they clearly talk about 32khz internal signal to use for adjusting 17v P1 pot to set it on 17.3v exactly.
Took the first internal pattern on my test chassis and measured, it read 18.4v (bit too high, had to adjust that one later as well) and displayed external source 1080p, it read 18.8v

Then I switched SMPS into my 919 SP and first it gave readings of 18.3 on internal pattern, then suddenly it changed to 15.5v Shocked Shocked Shocked but nothing happened to picture. After swapping boards etc. nothing changed it stumped me.
Then suddenly I saw AC wires on PFC mounted were switched, so Live on Neutral and Neutral on Live. switched then back again and no more strange reading of 15.5v anymore adjusted it from 18.3 to 17.3 and all is fine.
phew....

Holly smoke...it was all the time that way ? Good thing nothing went bad.
On mine, the white wire on PFC is near the EHT and the black one is faceing the tubes. I suppose is the right way.
Glad you sorted out.

I need it for some consoles yes, they mostly output 15.7kHz RGB

If you connect a 15.7k signal without a LIMO id expect youll get no sync, ive never tried it. Would be good if it did work, cause there are a few light gun shooting games that need to run in 15.7kHz for the guns to work, they work perfect on all my other CRT projectors.

I am worried about this topic as it seems that changing the ac connectors on the PFC changed the voltage readings on the SMPS. Could be a bad PFC board? I meen turning the AC connector around should not have this much effect????
