Hello,

Just purchased a Barco Graphics 808 for 70 Euro, quite happy with it...
Now I want connect to the Port 3 a HDMI input, using a convertor from HD Fury.
However, just noticed that the convertor has DVI-D at one end (which I can convert easily to HDMI with a short cable) and VGA D15 at the other end while I expected there D9 since the Barco uses only a 9-pins VGA.

How can I fix this? Should I solder myself or are there prefab solutions (D15->D19)...Is soldering tricky in order to get could results?

Any advice/pointers?

Thanks!

If you already have the HD fury, you need a HD15-5*BNC (common) or HD15-DSUB9 (rare) adapter.

If you don't have the HD fury yet, I have both a HD fury with adapters and the DVI -> port 3 adapter (https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=28794.html) laying around. Drop a PM if interested.

You will also need the power supply for the Fury. IT most likely will not work without it.

I have the Fury already so I need the HD15-DSUB9 adpater then, I guess...Do you have one of this for sale?
Otherwise, I should solder from VGA 15pins-> 9pins as I understood from this:
http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco_Port3_Input.shtm

I got already the DVI-D->HDMI adapter, so that's ok (see attachment)...

@Curt: did not know I needed to power the Fury...What power does it take?

Thanks again!

Sure thing you can solder it.

5V 1A. Comes with a standard USB adapter. The trick is finding the USB A -> round plug adapter that is comes with. eBay should be your friend, or trusty solder iron again. Also check polarity. IIRC they put plus on the sleeve just to screw with you.

Hello,

I try to solder a VGA (15 pins) to a D9 pins in order to use the Port3 of my Barco G 808...

So I bought a separate D9 connector, cut off VGA connector of a good quality, short VGA cable I had and then have to connect/solder according this scheme here:
http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco_Port3_Input.shtm

However, what I did not realize that I do not know which colored cable of the VGA corresponds to which number in order to solder them properly to the D9-connector...

Is there a standard coloring of cables for VGA so I can know which color comes from where?
Looked for a scheme but did not found any?

Any help/ideas?

Thanks in advance,
-brt

Why use port 3? Port 5 is better. You just need a vga to 5 bnc cable available at most electronics shop.

In general, port 3 is the first choice on plain 808.
From 808s types up, port 5 delivers a sharper picture with more vivid colours.
