Why do you add the tissue tape when replacing tube in a G70?

I was planning to replace the tubes in my G70 and have read through the procedure. I have a question which is; "why do you need to place two stripes of adhesive tape on the neck of the tube(s)?"
When I removed my original tubes, there was no tape on them. thanks.

Nothing serious, it is because the coils are rigid and the tube neck is also rigid, so fixing he screws of the coils might not be enough to hold it right in place. Soft tape gives a bit more traction, and also helps softening the effect of accidental shocks between tube neck and the coils.
