Wasn't this a predecessor to Ampro? I seem to remember reading that some where. Possibly founded by Ampros president before Esprit? I thought I read that in a link Clarence posted once.

Curt's mentioned them before when somebody posted that they had one. Pretty rare, IIRC.

TV/Projector: All of them!

I actually bought one years ago, in 2000 I think. Two versions:

The early one was a Pulsar made unit. Sony SD tubes, analog convergence. THe later ones were a Zenith PRO 841 (predecessor to the 851) that included a test pattern generator and internal fans (very quiet) and a 40%(?) smaller chassis than the Zenith version. I sold the one I got to a pub, and AFAIK it's still in there running. I told them 2 years ago that the tubes were dead, but they are still running it as is.

I used to be a dealer for this manufacturer.

Pulstar Video Systems
7676 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
San Diego, CA 92111

(619) 278-4318

To the best of my knowlege, the principals were:

Jim Wellnitz, CEO
Leo Ramirez - Technical / Engineering Mgr.
Jim Breidenbach - Production Mgr.

The dealer price for the unit was about $ 3000.00

It produces an AWESOME picture. Used Sony INDUSTRIAL grade projection tubes.
Very bright image. We chose it over the Advent/Kloss Novabeam/videobeam which was
the hype product at the time. This was obviously a good decision on my part based on
the abysmal history of the Kloss product.

I believe I have the original owner's manual and a complete service manual as well.

I also have a near-new unit available for sale if anyone is interested.
