black Friday deal. have had it for a little bit basically sitting on the floor.

would like to full motion mount it in a corner. the problem i am having is that it's so wide I cant find a long enough arm to get a nice swing out of it..

it weighs 75lbs without the stand.

400mm x 400mm

62 1/2 inches wide


the looking I have done has me totally baffled at the price range on these things.. do I really need a 500.00 mount? I'm pretty sure the 50.00 one isnt the correct choice.

I tried a monoprice unit that said it works with a 70" but it doesn't have enough arm length to turn enough..

so far I'm happy with the display. it's replacing a Toshiba 65" rear projector that gave us a solid 15 ish years of service.

70 inches? Damn, that's a HUGE set. I don't know if any of the full-motion mounts are going to accommodate a set that big - with a full-90-degree turn.

I'd guess the problem is that an articulated mount that will handle a set that size is going to need a YARD worth of extension, so two 18-inch arms, or three 12-inch arms, but all sticking out from the wall almost a yard… It's going to be have to be pretty damn well-made - and very large to handle a huge moment - and therefore pricey - and probably also not as flexible in that it may not even work with much smaller of a set.

I'd probably call a couple of AV dealers and see if anybody knows if one even exists.

This might be a shot in the dark, but would it be possible to put the thing on TWO articulating arms, one on each side of the back of the set ? It would move a little strangely but might resolve the weight problem.

Here's a sample just think of doing this with TWO cheap regular arms instead of this expensive dual armed mount.

You'd have to do some measurements, but the problem that seems to jump out out at me is that one mount would have to extend well beyond the midpoint to turn the TV out a full 90-degreees from the wall, and the two could potentially interfere with one another.

It's really the 90-degrees that's the problem, when combined with the large extension due to the size of the set.

Did you ever try calling a dealer or two to see if they knew of anything?

I am very happy with this mount... I bought different lag bolts event before I saw the ones that came with the mount. GRK 3 1/2 structural screws torq drive with oversize heads.

one thing I like about this mount is that the foot that mounts to the wall has several mounting options for center of the arm. so you can screw to two studs and not be stuck with center of wall bracket being center of tv...

I did have to open one of the screw holes a little for the arm bracket to mount to the wall bracket. no big deal.

it only has one 31" arm and it is strong and well built with some horizontal and vertical tilt adjustments. mine fits mt 70" in the corner nicely.

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of the newer mounts offering much more flexible mounting to center the TV on a mount-point.

So, were you able to extend the mount and rotate the TV a full 90 degrees?
