Hi everyone!
Another e-waste find ; a stylish looking 37" LCD model LG DU-37LZ55 (aka Zenith Z37LZ5) ... this one is a mystery: found several bad caps in the power supply and replaced them however the symptoms remain - static on the audio and "staticky vertical lines in segmented patterns on the screen which get progressively worse as the set warms up as does the static sounds. The "real" video content displays perfectly in the background.

Based on this and the screenshots below is this more likely to be the Mainboard than the T-con ? ( given the static on the sound I didn't think a bad T-Con could cause that... its almost more like there is faults in the decoding circuits causing leakage of video timing / data into the audio sections ???

I second what curt posted as I was given a nice sony flat panel (luckily for free) to find out the panel is more then the set is worth

It look like display panel/t.con card problem.
