I told my friend to register on here and ask on here. But he said he would prefer I do it for him. He fried his 9500lc in a massive power spike. He wants to take a old 1208s2 that has burned tubes and put the tubes from his 9500 into the thing. Beside modding the mounts in the front, would this work if he modded the yoke? I tried to get him to give me his HD10f lenses but he is planning on moving them as well. Will this freak of a unit even work? I liken this to the 10pg to extra modders. Cannot be done. His goal is to not spend a dime. I will not do any labor on this but relay info. He is nuts!

Unless he's a machinist, I don't recommend it. Why not fix the Marquee?

Maybe he should sell the 1208s2 for parts, and fix the Marquee from the income

I've owned a 1208s2 that used MEC tubes...so...its certainly electrically possible, and easily possible if the tubes in the Barco are currently MEC. If they're Sony tubes, I have no experience with that....
There is a single pin difference between Barco and Marquee MEC neck board pinout, but I don't remember what it is, research.
As for physically fitting the housings in the Barco chassis, that should be fairly simply, I would think. I would imagine you'd have to cut some of the aluminum side panel to fit the Marquee housings in, but so what, if you've got the know how, its only time...not at all impossible...Plus the Marquee housing mount system is so simple, I would think transferring it whole would be fairly simple, cut a couple notches for the bottom plate in the Barco sides...
There was a guy in Germany(?) who made a FrankenBarco with 9"LC tubes in an 808 chassis, which is much smaller than the 1208 chassis...

its possible but it would make more sense to fix the marquee. its really a better chassis with more parts available..

Swapping M9500 tubes to Barco 1209 or 1209s (Sheimpflug adjustment) LC hardware is one option.
Then he need to modify neck cards pinout.

Why would you go to the hassle to cut the tubes out of the perfectly good Marquee housings ?? With the Marquee's dead easy mount system, I would think the easiest way would be to simply transfer the bottom and top plates from the Marquee to the Barco...Am I forgetting something about the Marquee LC assembly mount system ? Isn't it just two aluminum plates with some pivot pins ?
